THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL FORT BREENDONK IS CLOSED

We must do everything we can to stop the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 and protect risk groups.
Therefore, the National Memorial Fort Breendonk is closed.
All events in the museum will also be canceled.
This measure follows the guidelines of the Belgian government.
We will continue to inform you on this page about the exact date of the reopening.

Opening hours

Daily (7/7), from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm (last admission: 4.30pm).

Closed on january 1st, day of the pilgrimage (September), and december 24th, 25th and 31st.

By car or bus

From the “ring” of Brussels

Highway A12 (direction:Antwerp-Boom).

After 12 miles use Exit 7: Breendonk-Willebroek.

At the end of the exit, the first street on the right (dead end street) that leads to the parking of the Memorial.

From Antwerp

Highway A12 (direction Brusse/Bruxelles). After 12 miles use Exit 7:Puurs-Fort Breendonk-Willebroek-Centrum.

At the end of the exit, keep left and turn left. Then cross the bridge that crosses the A12 and then take the first street on the right (dead end street) that leads to the parking of the Memorial.

From Gent (Gand)

Highway A14/E17 (direction Sint-Niklaas-Antwerp).

Exit 15 (“Temse”). Then direction Willebroek.

Parking

The Memorial provides sufficient free parking, close to its entry.

The Memorial has two reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities
(please report at the desk).

When you set up your GPS to come to Breendonk, then please enter the following address (different from the postal address of the fort): Rijksweg - 2830 Willebroek or Dendermondsesteenweg, 309/307 or 305 - 2830 Willebroek
